British Airways will become the only carrier to operate a direct flight between Europe and Durban when it launches a three-times-weekly service from London Heathrow to the South African city on 29th October 2018.
The east coast city sits on a golden mile of sand, warmed by the Indian Ocean and frequented by dolphins. Durban is Africa’s busiest port and South Africa’s third largest city with a mesmeric overtone of African culture mixed with Indian and colonial influence.
Discover the beauty of the KwaZulu-Natal region, defining Durban as a destination for culture and adventure. Durban has vast nature reserves and heritage sites across the region, so hire a car and drive out to the Drakensburg Mountains.
Whether you want authentic Zulu delicacies, Indian curries, iced rooibos tea or craft beer, find it in Durbans’ melting pot. This multi-cultural city has a lively downtown and great weather with 320 days of sunshine a year.
The Dreamliner-operated service saves three hours on the current Johannesburg connection, making the flight just over 11 hours, and will offer additional options to the twice daily flights between London and Johannesburg, and daily flights between London and Cape Town.
