Flying Blue, the frequent flyer program of Air France and KLM, rewards members with points called 'Miles', because that’s exactly what they represent, the actual number of miles you fly. So, the further or more often you fly, the more Miles you earn, simple.

There are two types of Miles: Award Miles and Level Miles. Level Miles determine your level in the Flying Blue programme: Ivory, Silver, Gold or Platinum. By joining Flying Blue you become an Ivory member and benefit from travel options at reduced rates and exclusive discounts even before you fly.

Award Miles can be earned both in the air and on the ground. Just fly with Air France, KLM or one of 25 partner airlines including Transavia, Aeromexico, Alitalia, China Airlines and Delta Air Lines. Plus the higher your membership level gets, the more Award Miles you earn.

Miles earned can be used towards flight tickets, hotel reservations or even car rentals. For example if you travel on 12 Economy Class return flights from Paris or Amsterdam in a year you earn at least 9,000 Award Miles, which you can spend on a Promo Awards, a seat upgrade or four cinema tickets.
