Cathay Pacific continues its record-breaking network expansion with new destination Tokushima, Japan
Discover more with Cathay Pacific as they announce a 10th new destination for 2018. The new route will operated by Cathay Dragon as a new seasonal service between December 19th and March 30th using their A320 aircraft.
Currently flying to six destinations in Japan, this new addition is set to introduce travellers and business to a beautiful new region renowned for its breath-taking sights, including The Gorges of Iya Valley - one of Japan’s ‘Three Hidden Valleys’.
Notably, the island of Shikoku is hemmed by a 1,200km, 88-temple Pilgrimage route known as “Henro”. Starting in Tokushima this is considered to be the most renowned spiritual pilgrimage in Japan.
The 1.3 kilometres wide ‘Naruto Strait’ is spirited by some of the fastest moving currents in the world, these currents cause giant whirlpools to form. Visitors can observe these powerful unique whirlpools from the Onaruto Bridge, which stretches the entire length of the strait, or alternatively sightseeing boat tours are available from the port.
The island of Shikoku in which the city of Tokushima is embedded offers a spectacular blend of mountains, land and seascapes.
