Traveleads was delighted to learn that the Royal Lancaster Hotel had been chosen to host this year’s WellChild Awards.  Earlier this year we took some of our clients to stay at the Royal Lancaster Hotel where they were given the royal treatment throughout their stay. Earlier this week the hotel once again rolled out the red carpet and welcomed two of the most popular young royals as Harry and Meghan attended the awards.
A host of celebrities including the Duke and Duchess of Sussex gathered at the hotel on September 4th to attend the annual awards.

The prestigious star-studded ceremony staged by the WellChild national charity honours some of Britain’s bravest children and inspirational individuals.
Hundreds of nominations from across the country were received this year, acknowledging the many people who work so tirelessly to make a difference.  The awards highlight just how much courage and strength some of these children have, while celebrating their inspiring achievements.

Speaking at the awards, Prince Harry paid tribute to all those attending by saying "We have seen for ourselves tonight how strong and resilient these young people and families are. Your stories are nothing but inspirational and every year at the WellChild Awards I am astonished by the people I meet."

Amongst the winners was seven-year-old Matilda Booth from West Yorkshire, who has spina bifida and is paralysed from the chest down. This brave little girl has undergone more than 40 operations and aspires to be a nurse. Notably, Harry made a “Pinky Pledge” with the seven-year old who urged her to “never stop smiling as you’ve got a beautiful smile”.

Traveleads would like to applaud all those who were recognised at the awards and to congratulate the Royal Lancaster Hotel for the job they did in hosting such an incredible event.
