It has been reported that Virgin Atlantic will terminating their London Gatwick-Las Vegas McCarran service for flights after March 31 2019, replacing the service with a new route operated out of London Heathrow.
Virgin Atlantic currently operates 7 weekly flights to Las Vegas using B747-400 equipment. From March 31 2019 the carrier will launch a new service out of London's largest gateway (LHR) which will be operated using B787-9 aircraft.
British Airways currently flies to Las Vegas out of both of its London's hubs - 10x weekly out of Heathrow, using B747-400 aircraft, and 3x weekly out of Gatwick, using B777-200 equipment.
For regular commuters to Las Vegas from LGW the reduction in services due to the Virgin Atlantic move will be somewhat off-set by Norwegian UK as they are set to launch a service out of London Gatwick to Las Vegas on October 29 2018. The 2x weekly route will be operated with B787-9 aircraft.
