On both Saturday 10th November and Sunday 11th November 2018, free travel will be provided to any serving members of the armed forces, veterans, cadets as well as volunteers selling poppies. This is to ensure that journeys to attend any Remembrance Day events are made simple and easy.

To be eligible, armed forces can either travel in uniform or bring along a military identification card. Veterans can carry identification in the form of the MOD issued veteran’s Badge.

Kathryn O’Brien, Customer Experience Director for TransPennine Express commented:

“We are proud to be able to support our amend forced by providing free travel over the course of this poignant weekend marking the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War. This is the least we can do to honour those that have made the ultimate commitment to our country.

“Many members of our team have served in the armed forces so it is fitting that we show our support in this way.”
