British Airways Announce Staff Training Investment at Heathrow

British Airways have implemented a brand new training scheme, beginning with their customer service personnel at Heathrow T5.

The carrier states that currently its airport hosts have been able to aid customers with only one aspect of their journey, but going forward, the aim is to provide training to enable them to help travellers “across a range of different areas – including ticketing, re-booking, changing reservations, finding delayed luggage and providing up to date flight information”.

New entry requirements for visitors to Turkey

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has updated the travel advice for Turkey with an update to the Entry Requirements (Visas) section – from 29 October 2018, self service e-Visa kiosks and Wi-Fi areas where visitors can apply for an e-Visa on arrival will no longer be available in Turkish airports; you must apply for your e-Visa before you travel.

Heathrow Offers £1m Incentive to UK’s First Electric Plane

Heathrow is looking to influence its role as one of the world’s leading airports to drive sustainable change across the industry. As a result, they have announced a grand innovation prize, valued at nearly £1million to motivate and encourage airlines to invest in electrical technology. The prize will be awarded to the first electric-hybrid aircraft put into regular service at the UK’s international hub. They will be granted free landing charges at Heathrow for an entire year.

The Gold Award was collected at a ceremony in Edinburgh’s International Conference venue, having been recognised by judges for its impressive achievements over the last 12 months.
