The most expensive city in the world when it comes to business travel is ...

According to reports by ECA International Daily Rates Research London is no longer one of the top ten most expensive cities for business travellers.
The Capital city has been overtaken by Monaco, Basel and Paris.  Findings suggest the strong performance of the Euro has seen costs in other EU cities rise due to exchange rates.

Brexit will be business as usual for easyjet

easyJet has announced that easyJet UK has now secured a UK Air Operator's Certificate (AOC).  This comes as part of the low-cost carrier's plans to protect itself from any potential post-Brexit fall-out.  The move to obtain the UK AOC was announced back in February by easyjet Chairman John Barton at the company’s Annual General Meeting.  The UK based fleet will operate under the new AOC from June.  This pre-emptive move protects the airline against potential route restrictions after the United Kingdom leaves the EU in 2019, and means that regardless of the Brexit ramifications for other car

French ATC strikes set to disrupt European flights tomorrow

Airlines are warning of disruption due to a strike by French air traffic controllers tomorrow (Tuesday 22 May). The action, part of a wider general strike across the country, is set to affect flights to and from France and to other destinations using French air space.  British Airways said if the threatened strike goes ahead it would be forced to cancel some flights.

Manchester to Mumbai - new non-stop service from November 2018

Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline is proud to announce that from 05th November 2018, it will launch its first non-stop service between Mumbai and Manchester.  This new service is the first nonstop service connecting India, via its economic capital with Manchester. Italian government to halt the sale of Alitalia

The new incoming Italian government has confirmed it will stop the sale of Alitalia according to reports by Reuters.  The new coalition says Alitalia needs to be relaunched for Italy to maintain a "competitive national carrier".  Economics chief Claudio Borghi has since confirmed the coalition (which also includes the 5-Star Movement) intends to intervene and stop bankrupt Alitalia's sale, but stopped short of confirming that the Italian state would move to renationalize it.

Does renationalisation spell the end of the line for the East Coast rail franchise?

Earlier this week reports began to circulate regarding the future of the East Coast rail franchise, with some sources claiming an announcement would be made before the weekend. Transport Secretary Chris Grayling has now confirmed that the East Coast Mainline is set to be renationalised.
