British Airways minimal disruption as strike action continues

All British Airways customers will be able to fly to their destinations, despite 14 days of further proposed industrial action by Mixed Fleet Unite between Wednesday 2nd August and Tuesday 15th August. The union represents one of five British Airways cabin crew fleets so the the vast majority of services will be unaffected. All flights to and from London Gatwick, London City and Stansted will operate as normal as will the weekend only Mediterranean services to and from Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester.

British Airways new routes from London City

British Airways is launching new routes from London City Airport to three European capitals; Paris, Prague and Reykjavik in October 2017.

The new services to the three popular cities will mean British Airways will fly to 32 destinations from London City this winter. There will be three flights a day to Paris Orly during the week and one a day at weekends, six flights a week to Prague and two a week to Reykjavik.

Travellers warned to allow extra time for US departures

New security measures have been introduced on all routes to the United States today, with a particular focus on vigorous screening of electronic devices, more advanced security protocols around aircraft and in passenger areas and, more sniffer dogs employed. The US Department of Homeland Security have introduced the protocols to safeguard commercial aviation against the threat of terrorism. Passengers flying to the United States are being advised to arrive at the airport at least three hours before their flight departs due to the new measures.
