Introducing the all new American Airlines lounges

The American Airlines Admirals Club lounges are currently undergoing the largest makeover project in the airline’s history. Work has been completed on the lounges in São Paulo-Guarulhos International and Phoenix Sky Harbor International's Terminal A. The lounges in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles International are next in line to see the new contemporary overhaul, with a brand-new experience in the American Airlines Arrivals Lounge in London Heathrow also following shortly. SAS has launched a simple and flexible way to bid on an upgrade, whether you are flying to the USA, Asia, Europe, or within the Nordic region. Norwegian Air's UK expansion

Norwegian Air is expanding it's UK services for summer 2016 on brand new Boeing 737-800 aircraft offering passengers free Wi-Fi.

From the 30th April, two weekly flights will depart from Manchester to Barcelona offering nearly 20,000 seats for the summer season. From the 2nd June, four weekly flights will depart Manchester to Malaga and two weekly flights to Alicante will begin from the 3rd June.

New flights from Edinburgh to Barcelona take off from the 15th June with 15,000 seats available this summer.

Virgin's new US routes and Flybe partnership

From 28th March 2017, Virgin Atlantic will be the first airline to provide a direct service between Manchester and San Francisco. Operating three times weekly, the flights will connect the region to the world famous landmarks such as Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and Fisherman’s Wharf. Alongside this Virgin will launch a direct service from Manchester to Boston flying twice weekly with one of the quickest flight times to visit the USA. Virgin Atlantic currently flies to Atlanta, Las Vegas, Orlando and Barbados.

Italian air traffic controllers strike

Disruption to flights will be likely due to planned industrial action by Italian Air Traffic Controllers on Saturday 9th April. The hours of the industrial action are 0800GMT (10:00 Italian time) – 1600GMT (18:00 Italian time). It may be necessary for airlines to make adjustments to flight programmes for those flights that are scheduled to operate to and from Italy during the strike hours.
