United Airlines Newcastle to New York Route Returns for Summer 2016

United Airlines seasonal nonstop service from Newcastle Airport to New York Newark Liberty International Airport will return from the 26th May 2016 to the 6th September 2016 operating six times a week. The flights have been conveniently scheduled to connect with an extensive network of services to 300 destinations in North, Central, South America and the Caribbean, including more than 100 served nonstop.

Fly on the new Airbus A330-300 Enhanced with SAS

SAS have added four new long-haul Airbus A330-300 Enhanced aircraft to their fleet. The first aircraft, Tore Viking, started services this week on the Copenhagen to Chicago route. Another aircraft will be delivered in September and the remaining two in 2016. The new aircraft will enable SAS to launch new routes, fly longer distances and lower fuel consumption to reduce emissions. The first new A330-300 Enhanced will the first month operate the route between Copenhagen and Chicago and will then fly from Stockholm to Hong Kong and Chicago.

Record Passenger Numbers for Leeds Bradford International Airport

During the first four weeks of August over 100,000 passengers travelled through Leeds Bradford International Airport making it the busiest ever August recorded. The introduction of new business and leisure services plus an increase in frequency on a number of domestic routes have increased the annual passenger total to 3.4 million, with Leeds Bradford now serving 60 destinations in over 20 countries with 10 major airlines.

Double Daily Departures to New York with SAS

From late October 2015 SAS will increase flights to twice daily to New York from Copenhagen. The additional evening departure will be operated by PrivatAir on a Boeing 737, which will be reconfigured for 2016 with 20 Business seats and 66 Go seats.

The service will correspond to a full SAS inflight product to overseas destinations except with an iPad entertainment system. The new flight is expected to be particularly popular with passengers travelling for business and wanting to spend a full day in Copenhagen or New York before flying back on an evening.

Baggage with KLM Made Simpler

KLM are now offering the option to travel with hand baggage only or with a checked bag for a small fee for flights from the UK to Amsterdam and the rest of Europe. Checked baggage fees are £14 for one-way tickets and £28 for return tickets. Corporate customers, Bluebiz members and Flying Blue members are still entitled to free or discounted checked baggage.

Wizz Air Completes Billion Dollar Airbus Deal

Wizz Air have agreed to a deal worth $13.7 billion to purchase 110 Airbus A321neo aircraft to enable replacement of older aircraft and to expand the current fleet for planned growth on routes throughout central and eastern European, for delivery between 2019 and 2024. The new Airbus A321neos will provide new cabin innovations, the latest engine technology and other efficiency improvements leading lower fares and an enhanced customer offering and experience. The airline also has an additional 48 Airbus aircraft on order which will enter service in November 2015.

Air France Increases Frequency to Luanda

From October 2015 Air France will operate an additional flight from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Luanda, Angola. The increase to three weekly frequencies will continue throughout the winter season until March 2016. Air France-KLM currently operates flights to 47 destinations on the African continent. The Group has also signed agreements with various African airlines; Kenya Airways, TAAG Angola Airlines, Air Côte d’Ivoire and Comair, offering customers over 20 additional destinations on the continent.
