New restrictions affect what you can put in your hand-luggage

Liquids and gels in your handluggage have been restricted and controlled for quite some time, however powders are soon to be included on that list of banned products as new Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements for flights to the United States come into effect from June 30 2018.  American Airlines is encouraging customers to place powder-like substances over 12 oz. / 350 ml in their checked bags.

Tried and Tested - Road Trip USA (Nashville)

Last week we left behind the steaming streets of Memphis with the sound of live music still ringing in our ears.  Next stop on our journey - Lynchburg Tennessee, home of the famous Jack Daniel’s distillery.  It takes about four and a half hours to drive from Memphis to Lynchburg, but what a drive!  Try and avoid the highway where possible - we took a spectacular scenic route away from the main roads.  The state of Tennessee is incredibly beautiful.  Ancient forests give way to rural farms and picture postcard houses.

Las Vegas - More flight options from LHR and new flight options from LGW

It has been reported that that Virgin Atlantic will be terminating their London Gatwick-Las Vegas McCarran service for flights after March 31, 2019 - and that the service will be replaced with a new route operated out of London Heathrow.
Virgin Atlantic currently operates 7 weekly flights to Las Vegas using B747-400 equipment.  From March 31, 2019, the carrier will launch a new service out of London's largest gateway (LHR) which will be operated with B787-9 aircraft.

The RMT union has announced it will be carrying out strike action on Tuesday 19, Thursday 21 and Saturday 23 June and Northern services will be affected.

ALL CHANGE and NO CHANGE to East Coast Rail !

As you may recall last month we reported the governments decision to make changes to the current East Coast rail franchise. It has now been confirmed that London North Eastern Railway, or LNER as you’ll come to know it, is to be the new operator for the East Coast line from Sunday 24 June. A new operator but pretty much everything else stays the same. The same trains will be operating to the same timetable, so there will be no impact to services as a result of this transition to LNER.
