Air France Plans to Retire 'Joon' Brand

Air France has announced the integration of its Joon subsidiary into its main fleet, signalling the end of a brand which new chief executive Benjamin Smith described as “difficult to understand”.

Joon was launched in 2017 and marketed as a “millennial” carrier aimed at attracting a younger generation of passengers. At the time, Air France insisted Joon was not a low-cost airline and was instead focused on becoming “a lifestyle brand and a state of mind”.

Air France Partners with 7 Michelin-Starred Chefs for 2019

In 2019, Air France is entrusting its La Première and Business menus to 7 Michelin-starred chefs on departure from Paris. They will “help design menus, choose products and create the recipes”

January to March - passengers will be offered dishes by Michel Roth – two Michelin-starred chef and owner of The Bayview Restaurant in Geneva

April to June -   creations by the late Joel Robuchon, who died in August 2018, as Air France honours the memory of “a visionary and virtuoso chef”.

New Air France-KLM CEO pledges to reinvest half of his salary back into the airline

the Air France-KLM group — formed by Air France’s 2004 merger with Dutch KLM — had been without a permanent leader since the resignation of previous chief Jean-Marc Janaillac in May.

Travel Alert France: Air France strike planned for 3rd, 4th, 7th and 8th May

Strike action is due to take place in France on Thursday 3rd, Friday 4th, Monday 7th and Tuesday 8th May, causing disruption and delays to travel plans. The four strike days have been agreed by three unions representing workers for Air France in the latest in a long-running pay dispute with management.

Air France's new airline JOON takes to the skies

Air France has launched its new low-cost airline; JOON which is offering medium-haul flights from Paris-Charles de Gaulle, and then will offer long-haul flights from next summer 2018. JOON began operations with services to Barcelona, Berlin, Lisbon and Porto on 1st December 2017. It will add seven destinations from Paris Charles de Gaulle on 25th March 2018 to Rome, Naples, Oslo, Istanbul, Cairo, Cape Town and Tehran. Flights to Mahe in the Seychelles and Fortaleza, Brazil, will follow in summer 2018.
