Emirates to launch a daily service to Edinburgh

Emirates, the largest international airline in the world, will arrive in Edinburgh later this year with the launch of an Emirates service to Dubai.

The daily year-round service will begin on the 1st October 2018 and will maintain and strengthen Scotland's busiest airport's links with the Middle East ahead of the departure of Etihad's Abu Dhabi route.

Edinburgh will become Emirates’ second destination in Scotland after Glasgow and its eighth in the United Kingdom after the airline starts its daily service to London Stansted in June.

Qantas' 17 hour flight to Perth makes history

Qantas has added to its list of aviation firsts, with the national carrier making history as it touched down after the inaugural non-stop flight from London to Perth.

The 14,498-kilometre service will be the first regular passenger service to directly link Europe to Australia and with a 16 hour, 40 minute flight time makes the service the fastest way of travelling between the two countries.

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner service carried more than 200 passengers and 16 crew on the 236-capacity aircraft in Business, Premium Economy and Economy cabins.

London to Wuhan with China Southern Airlines

This summer China Southern Airlines will offer another boost to the ever-growing UK-Asia business market with a new route between London and Wuhan.

The Wuhan to London Heathrow service will launch on 30th May, with a thrice weekly service on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, operated by A330-200 aircraft.

It will be the only non-stop flight operating from London to the Chinese city, a strong commercial centre for its region, in central China. China Southern Airlines also currently fly from London Heathrow to Guangzhou twice daily.

Cathay Pacific to boost Manchester to Hong Kong route

Cathay Pacific have expanded their existing Manchester to Hong Kong service to daily flights due to rising demand. Earlier this year the airline increased in its existing Manchester to Hong Kong service from four to five flights and upgraded the aircraft to an Airbus A350-900 which replaced a 777-300ER on all flights from Manchester. The Airbus A350-900 offers Cathay Pacific’s newest products in Business, Premium Economy and Economy Class with an enhanced inflight entertainment system and Wi-Fi, meaning passengers can stay connected throughout their journey.
