As of today, the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre in London will capture some applicants’ fingerprints on behalf of the Chinese Embassy, in accordance with Chinese laws and regulations. Singapore implements compulsory fingerprint scanning

Singapore’s Immigration and Checkpoints Authority will implement mandatory biometric border scanning from June 2016. This means that all visitors will be subject to the compulsory scanning of fingerprints. Half a million travellers go through the country’s border every day, and Singapore has the busiest land-based checkpoint in the world. Security at these checkpoints is a crucial concern and biometric identification will be able to flag potential security threats more effectively.
