Stansted to become Emirates seventh UK base

From 8th June, Emirates will serve London with 10 daily Boeing 777-300ER flights with the introduction of the new Stansted route and existing Gatwick and Heathrow services. Emirates also fly from Birmingham, Newcastle, Manchester and Glasgow in the UK.

Emirates will operate their Boeing 777-300ER aircraft to its hub in Dubai and onward to over 140 cities on six continents including Hong Kong, Dubai, Shanghai, Singapore and Mumbai, the most popular business destinations from the East of England.

New Norwegian Premium class services from Gatwick

Norwegian Airlines will offer expanded premium class capacity on services from Gatwick from February 2018 available on 20 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Before you fly Premium offers you Fast Track and Lounge access, plus two 20kg pieces of luggage. The new expanded premium cabin, with 56 seats will offer passengers 55 inches of legroom, state-of-the-art touchscreen entertainment, a USB charger and power outlet at each seat and later in the year inflight Wi-Fi.

Cathay Pacific to boost Manchester to Hong Kong route

Cathay Pacific have expanded their existing Manchester to Hong Kong service to daily flights due to rising demand. Earlier this year the airline increased in its existing Manchester to Hong Kong service from four to five flights and upgraded the aircraft to an Airbus A350-900 which replaced a 777-300ER on all flights from Manchester. The Airbus A350-900 offers Cathay Pacific’s newest products in Business, Premium Economy and Economy Class with an enhanced inflight entertainment system and Wi-Fi, meaning passengers can stay connected throughout their journey.

Loganair and British Airways renewed partnership

Loganair will partner with British Airways from 1st September 2017 when Loganair will begin operations as an independent airline. The two carriers have had a business relationship for more than 25 years. Travellers from the Highlands and Islands will be able to connect to British Airways global network via Inverness, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen for onward flights to Heathrow, Gatwick and London City airports, then onwards to over 200 worldwide destinations.

All change for Virgin Atlantic, British Airways and EasyJet at Gatwick

Passengers should be aware that Gatwick is preparing for a terminal switch by three major airlines in the New Year. From 25th January 2017, all Virgin Atlantic departures and arrivals will move from the South Terminal to the North Terminal at London Gatwick as part of the airports redevelopment plans. British Airways is moving to the South Terminal, and EasyJet, which operates out of both terminals, will operate from the North Terminal only from January.

Cathay Pacific increase Gatwick and Manchester flights

Cathay Pacific is increasing Gatwick and Manchester flights to meet demand. Its existing four-times weekly service to Gatwick will become a daily operation and, Manchester will gain a fifth weekly flight and a change of aircraft from a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft to a larger, newer Airbus A350-900 from June 2017. The Gatwick service, launched in September, also uses the Airbus A350-900.
