British Airways introduce direct Durban service

British Airways will become the only carrier to operate a direct flight between Europe and Durban when it launches a three-times-weekly service from London Heathrow to the South African city on 29th October 2018.

The east coast city sits on a golden mile of sand, warmed by the Indian Ocean and frequented by dolphins. Durban is Africa’s busiest port and South Africa’s third largest city with a mesmeric overtone of African culture mixed with Indian and colonial influence.

Qatar Airways Dreamliner Maputo Route

From the 27th March 2016 Qatar Airways will upgrade its Doha to Maputo route to a non-stop B787 Dreamliner service three times weekly, saving passengers approximately five hours each way. The airline currently serves the Doha to Maputo route three times a week via South Africa’s largest city Johannesburg. The new route will allow convenient options to and from more than 150 destinations worldwide.

London to Johannesburg with Iberia Airlines

Iberia Airlines will fly from London to Johannesburg, via Madrid, from August 2016. The British Airways sister airline will fly three times a week, on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays with return flights operating on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Schedules are designed with London connections in mind. Iberia will use the A330-300 on the route, which can accommodate up to 36 passengers in business class and 242 in the economy.
