Lufthansa announces new European destinations

Lufthansa's European network will expand this winter with seven new destinations added to their timetable. From Frankfurt, Pamplona will operate four times a week from 6th November and Genoa, Bari and Catania will operate three times a week from 29th October. From Munich, there will be daily flights to Nantes while Glasgow will be served four times a week. Santiago de Compostela is on the flight schedule every Sunday as an addition to the services on offer from Frankfurt.

Qatar Airways launch flights from Cardiff to Doha and beyond

Qatar Airways is to launch a daily flight from Cardiff Airport to its hub in Doha, Qatar, in 2018.  The new service will be the first regular direct long-haul flight linking Wales and South West England to a major global hub in the Gulf region. It will allow business and leisure travellers to fly directly from their local airport via Doha to a choice of over 150 destinations across the globe in Asia, Australasia, Africa and the Middle East. The new service from Cardiff will be the latest addition to a growing network of destinations that Qatar Airways serves across the UK and Ireland.

Cathay Pacific to boost Manchester to Hong Kong route

Cathay Pacific plan to expand their existing Manchester to Hong Kong service to daily flights from early December 2017 due to rising demand. Earlier this year the airline increased in its existing Manchester to Hong Kong service from four to five flights and upgraded the aircraft to an Airbus A350-900 which replaced a 777-300ER on all flights from Manchester. The Airbus A350-900 offers Cathay Pacific’s newest products in Business, Premium Economy and Economy Class with an enhanced inflight entertainment system and Wi-Fi, meaning passengers can stay connected throughout their journey.

Loganair and British Airways renewed partnership

Loganair will partner with British Airways from 1st September 2017 when Loganair will begin operations as an independent airline. The two carriers have had a business relationship for more than 25 years. British Airways minimal disruption as strike action continues

All British Airways customers will be able to fly to their destinations, despite 14 days of further proposed industrial action by Mixed Fleet Unite between Wednesday 2nd August and Tuesday 15th August. The union represents one of five British Airways cabin crew fleets so the the vast majority of services will be unaffected. All flights to and from London Gatwick, London City and Stansted will operate as normal as will the weekend only Mediterranean services to and from Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester.
