Emirates will introduce a second daily A380 service between Dubai and Birmingham on the 29th October 2017. The route increase is due to huge demand from customers and, has also led to an upgrade to the iconic and highly popular Emirates A380. Emirates plan A380 exclusive Melbourne route

Emirates’ will provide an all-A380 service from 25th March next year when it upgrades its third daily flight from Dubai and Melbourne. The upgrade will add 945 seats a week to the route, representing a 10% increase in capacity and meaning Emirates passengers can enjoy even more seamless “A380 to A380” connections via its hub in Dubai to 18 points in the UK and Europe.

 In addition, together with partner airline Qantas’ new B787 London to Melbourne service via Perth, beginning on 24th March 2018, passengers now have even more options from the UK and Europe.

G'day all the way to Australia - Qantas' new direct UK to Australia service on sale now.

We are pleased to announce that customers can now book non-stop flights from the UK to Australia for the first time, with tickets for Qantas' London Heathrow-Perth route (nicknamed the Kangaroo route) now on sale.

The daily flights will begin on 25 March 2018 and form part of a new London-Perth-Melbourne return service. Customers travelling from the UK and Europe will also be able to connect to other Australian cities via Perth.

Qantas will fly non-stop London to Perth

Qantas is set to add to its list of aviation firsts, with the national carrier confirming it will operate non-stop flights from London to Perth using the 787-9 Dreamliner.

The 14,498-kilometre service will be the first regular passenger service to directly link Europe to Australia when it begins in March 2018.

Passenger comfort was a key consideration for the 17-hour flight, so the interior of the 787's were designed with this in mind. The on-board service was also designed to help combat jetlag.

Will Qantas operate the first ever non-stop flight from UK to Australia?

Qantas will publish its first scheduled Dreamliner routes by the end of the year, with a direct service between London and Perth a distinct possibility.

The Australian national carrier is set to receive its first Boeing 787 – also known as the Dreamliner – in 2017, and will announce new routes for the plane later this year.
If the London to Perth service is given the go-ahead, it would rival the current longest flight in the world! (Emirates Dubai to Auckland service) which clocks up 8,819 miles, taking 17 hours and 15 minutes.

Emirates announce new direct Melbourne services

Passengers travelling to Melbourne, Australia will now have another direct flight option with Emirates announcing that flights EK408 and EK409 will begin operating as non-stop services from Dubai from 30th October 2016. The service from Dubai to Melbourne currently operates via Kuala Lumpur and the change to a non-stop service will save passengers approximately two and half hours in each direction.
