More long-haul options for Scottish passengers with Virgin Atlantic and Flybe

Virgin Atlantic and Flybe have extended their partnership to offer Scottish customers all the advantages of Virgin's Manchester route network, making it easier to transfer to long-haul flights. Flybe's Glasgow to Manchester route is now included in their codeshare deal so passengers in Scotland can connect to and from Virgin Atlantic flights, with one boarding pass and have their bags checked through for the entire journey.

This coming May, Aer Lingus will launch Ireland's first four times weekly service direct between Dublin and Seattle. Aer Lingus currently offer flights to New York JFK, Hartford, Newark, Boston, Washington, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orlando, Miami, Toronto and, from March 2018 Philadelphia.

More choice to the US with Virgin Atlantic and Delta Air Lines

Joint venture partners Virgin Atlantic and Delta Air Lines are expanding their summer schedule to give customers a better choice of flights from the UK regions: London, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Belfast, to the US this summer.

Delta resumes the UK’s only direct seasonal services from London to Salt Lake City from 2nd April and to Portland, Oregon, from 4th May. Virgin Atlantic will re-introduce seasonal flights between Manchester and Las Vegas, San Francisco and Boston. Virgin will also treble the number of seats available between Belfast International and Orlando.

Virgin Atlantic introduce new Airbus aircraft

Virgin Atlantic is introducing four new Airbus A330-200 aircraft to the fleet. 'Daydream Believer' has arrived at London Gatwick for finishing touches before it enters into service in March 2018. And, over the next few weeks 'Scarlett O’Hara' and 'Honky Tonk Woman' will also join the fleet with 'Strawberry Fields' joining in spring 2018. The 287 seater Airbus A330-200's are fully Wi-Fi enabled and will initially operate flights from Manchester to New York, Boston, San Francisco and Barbados.

SAS launches Go Light to the USA

From 14th December 2017 SAS travellers can choose SAS Go Light on all SAS flights from Scandinavia to the United States which offers a lower price when travelling with carry-on luggage only. SAS Go Light was successfully launched on European routes in 2015 and will now be rolled out to all SAS flights from Sweden, Denmark and Norway to New York, Chicago, Boston, Miami, Washington, Los Angeles and San Francisco. SAS Go, SAS Plus and SAS Business will still be offered on-board US flights.

Virgin Atlantic expand Manchester operations for 2018

Virgin Atlantic has announced its biggest ever season of flying from Manchester Airport, with nearly 40,000 extra seats available to book in summer 2018 as part of an expanded UK flying programme with partner Delta Air Lines.

Flights to both New York JFK and Atlanta from Manchester are being upgraded and will be operated by both the A330 and the largest aircraft in Virgin Atlantic’s fleet, the Boeing 747, which has a huge 455 seats per aircraft.
