SAS' green approach pays off

As more people choose to travel on SAS, their focus is on reducing their environmental impact. 2017 was a record year with 30 million travelers. At the same time, SAS had the lowest emissions ever per passenger per kilometer. Even though SAS increased the number of passenger kilometers by 20% in 10 years, they have managed to reduce their total emissions by 1.5%. This is thanks to investments in new fuel-efficient aircraft, lighter cabin interiors, green approaches and smoother routes.

Upgrade Eurobonus flights with SAS

SAS customers can now bid on an upgrade to SAS Plus or SAS Business, including on flights booked using EuroBonus points. For some time now, SAS has offered its customers the opportunity to bid on an upgrade to Plus or Business. Now, SAS customers who have booked a EuroBonus Award Trip, in other words a journey booked using EuroBonus points, can also bid on an upgrade.

SAS summer 2018 routes

SAS continues to expand its services to and from Scandinavia with the launch of 27 new non-stop routes to be served from several of its hubs. The seasonal summer 2018 schedule also includes five new destinations on SAS´s route map; Verona, Sarajevo, Genoa, Toulon and Beirut.

SAS is giving its customers more access to popular destinations with expanded summer services to Portugal, Spain, Croatia and Italy. SAS' seasonal summer 2018 routes will offer 114 destinations from Denmark, Norway and Sweden and 1.3 million additional seats for travellers.

SAS launches Go Light to the USA

From 14th December 2017 SAS travellers can choose SAS Go Light on all SAS flights from Scandinavia to the United States which offers a lower price when travelling with carry-on luggage only. SAS Go Light was successfully launched on European routes in 2015 and will now be rolled out to all SAS flights from Sweden, Denmark and Norway to New York, Chicago, Boston, Miami, Washington, Los Angeles and San Francisco. SAS Go, SAS Plus and SAS Business will still be offered on-board US flights.

Introducing the SAS New Experience

SAS Scandinavian Airlines are upgrading their fleet with 30 new A320neo aircraft, the most efficient and environmentally-friendly aircraft for mid-range travel. The A320neo burns 15-20% less fuel per flight compared to the aircraft used today, and will therefore help SAS achieve its sustainability goals.

In addition to 30 brand new aircraft, the remaining 70 planes will be refitted with the new cabin between 2017 and 2019. To make the journey even more comfortable, the seats in the new cabin will be equipped with comfort cushions, a further recline and a new 30" seat width.
