Ryanair strikes to affect business travellers and holiday-makers across Europe this month

Following a long running feud between Ryanair staff and management at the airline, cabin crew and ground staff across Europe have announced they will hold a 48-hour strike later this month, potentially resulting in the delay or cancellation of thousands of flights. Employees in Spain, Italy, Portugal and Belgium will strike on July 25th and 26th unless their demands are met and a deal is reached.

French ATC strikes set to disrupt European flights tomorrow

Airlines are warning of disruption due to a strike by French air traffic controllers tomorrow (Tuesday 22 May). The action, part of a wider general strike across the country, is set to affect flights to and from France and to other destinations using French air space.  British Airways said if the threatened strike goes ahead it would be forced to cancel some flights.

Urgent Easter Travel Update: Find out if your plans could be affected.

It looks like it might bad news for anyone planning an Easter getaway as strike action by Air France staff along with widespread closures of the UK rail network, are set to cause major disruption over the bank holiday weekend. Tomorrow (Good Friday) will see the start of the Air France strike, after negotiations broke down between the company and unions representing pilots, cabin crew and ground staff. This will be the third strike in five weeks. The unions are demanding a 6 per cent increase in pay to compensate for what they say are several years of wage stagnation.

British Airways minimal disruption as strike action continues

All British Airways customers will be able to fly to their destinations, despite 14 days of further proposed industrial action by Mixed Fleet Unite between Wednesday 2nd August and Tuesday 15th August. The union represents one of five British Airways cabin crew fleets so the the vast majority of services will be unaffected. All flights to and from London Gatwick, London City and Stansted will operate as normal as will the weekend only Mediterranean services to and from Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester.

British Airways Strike Action to Continue.

British Airways’ passengers face more disruption after workers announced a fresh round of strikes.
Members of Unite will walk out for 14 days from July 19, just three-days after completing a 16-day stoppage.
Union Unite said the strike had been called after BA claims that crew who previously walked out have not had their bonuses or benefits, including free and discounted travel, restored.

British Airways Strike Action - cancelled flights:

British Airways has confirmed that industrial action involving one of their five cabin crew fleets will take place between Saturday 1 July and Sunday 16 July 2017 (inclusive).
They would like to reassure customers that the vast majority of flights to and from London Heathrow will operate as normal. “All flights to and from London Gatwick, London City and Stansted will operate as normal as will our recently launched weekend only Mediterranean services to and from Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester.”

Lufthansa Pilots Strike Action - TOMORROW

Pilots at German airline Lufthansa will go on strike for 24 hours from Wednesday (November 23) in a long-running dispute over pay.

The action will affect long and short-haul services from 00:00 – 23:59 November 23. Lufthansa are yet to confirm which flights will be cancelled.

The announcement concerns Lufthansa flights only, with those operated by CityLine, Germanwings, Eurowings, Air Dolomiti, Austrian Airlines, SWISS and Brussels Airlines operating as normal.
